The RIFG chairs are pleased to announce the launch of the Creel Limits Scoping Survey which can be access HERE
Survey Background and PurposeThis survey has been initiated as a scoping exercise by the Chairs of the Regional Inshore Fisheries Groups across Scotland. The need for such an initiative arose directly from feedback provided by numerous fishermen, who have voiced concerns regarding the necessity for more effective control over the number of creels currently being used in our inshore waters. Notably, these concerns were strongly reflected in the findings of the Interim Measures Survey that was previously conducted.
Confidentiality of DataAll information collected through this survey will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. Individual responses will not be disclosed or shared, ensuring the privacy of all participants.
Analysis and ReportingOnce the survey responses have been analysed, the key themes that emerge will be communicated to the Scottish Government. This process is intended to help inform and shape any future guidance or legislation that may be considered under their Inshore Fisheries Management Improvement (IFMI) Programme.
